Description
Condition: FAIR
"Ray Foster WET Model Trimmer Dental Lab Bench Grinder 1/3 HP Leeson Motor Stone Plaster"
Works but does leak

  • Manufacturer: Ray Foster Dental Equipment

  • Purpose: It's designed for precise shaping and trimming of dental models, which are essential for creating dentures, crowns, bridges, and other oral appliances. It uses a carbide wheel (the black, abrasive-looking surface) and is a "wet" model trimmer, meaning water is introduced during the grinding process to wash away debris and cool the surface, preventing dust from becoming airborne.

  • Model Name/Type: The nameplate in IMG_0602.jpg says "WET MODEL TRIMMER" with a Model No. of 1751.

Motor (The Power Source)

The equipment is powered by a Leeson Electric Corporation motor, and the images provide a great deal of technical information:

  • Horsepower (HP): The motor is rated at 1/3HP

  • Speed (RPM): It runs at 1725rpm (revolutions per minute), which is a common speed for induction motors

  • Phase (PH): It is a single-phase motor

  • Not Thermally Protected: The label explicitly states, "NOT THERMALLY PROTECTED", which is a critical piece of information. This means it relies on the circuit it's plugged into (e.g., the breaker panel) for overload protection, rather than having a built-in thermal switch that shuts the motor off when it gets too hot.

  • Cosmetic Condition: Minor scratches are visible on the screen and the base/stand, consistent with general classroom use. Please review all provided photos for a detailed visual assessment of the computer's physical condition.

  • Operational Status: The computer powers on and functions as expected.
